Research

As the construction industry becomes more and more digitized, and as new technologies are introduced to support this shift, new challenges emerge. These challenges include working collaboratively in digital environments, managing, coordinating and ensuring the quality of facility data and digital deliverables, and extracting useful data to assess performance.

Our research can also be understood within the framework for the four lifecycle phases of project delivery. These phases can be related to our main research themes:
  • Organize  → Integrated and Collaborative Practices
  • Design     → Digital Handover
  • Execute   → Indigenous Engagement
  • Deliver    → BIM Quality & Compliance

Our research addresses the evolving challenges in the digitized construction industry, focusing on enhancing collaboration, managing data quality, and leveraging new technologies. By examining various themes such as Integrated and Collaborative Practices, Digital Handover, Indigenous Engagement, and BIM Quality & Compliance, we aim to provide actionable insights and frameworks to improve project delivery and outcomes.

Our goal is to empower project teams with the knowledge and tools necessary to navigate the complexities of modern construction projects effectively.
